By: The
American Lamp Company.
A lesser
known lamp manufacturer but good enough to take the "Highest Honors Award"
at the Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois on May-Oct, 1893.
Very High
relief, beautifully embossed solid brass fount, with solid cast iron foot.
This
original lamp has been totally restored in polished brass with lacquer as
it was in the 1890's.
Electrified
without harm, has an in-line Hi-Low dimmer switch for 50 or 100 watts.
All oil
components are in place but this lamp has not been tested for oil use.
Fabulous
vintage ruby cased over opal ball shade. Great embossed and puffed out
swirls and floral design. It retains a deep ruby color when lit.
Both fitter
and top opening are ground and polished. Fitter is 3-7/8" with a slight
outward flare.
27" to top
of shade, 31" to top of chimney.
Both lamp
and shade are in excellent condition.
