Unsurpassed Crushed Acorn Student Lamp
By: Bradley and Hubbard
Beautiful applied beading and roping typical of Handel, as stated in, Student Lamps of the Victorian Era, by: Richard Miller
The identical lamp is pictured in this book on page 84, fig.71
Completely original, still in oil condition, never been drilled or tampered with. (Rare in this fine condition)
Electrified by means of a spare duplex burner, the authentic B&H burner is untouched and comes with the lamp separately.
The lamp was expertly polished and lacquered by it's previous owner and has mellowed a bit to a perfect patina.
The fount has some hidden small dents, not believed to compromise its function. This lamp has not been tested with oil, but all components are in place and appears to be working well.
The shade is an original cased butterscotch tam-o-shanta, a stunning compliment to this outstanding lamp.
The chimney is early flint glass and has part of it's original sales sticker still on it.
This lamp is larger than it appears, being 20" wide, 20" tall, with a 7-1/2" base.
A rare an important lamp for any collection, study or library.
Wonderful investment potential.
