The Belgian Mammoth

  • "One of the largest single student lamps ever made"

  • "A very scarce model in fine condition"

  • Everything about this lamp is "large" yet retains nice proportions. Stands an impressive 26-1/2" to the top of the lift ring, 16"wide.

  • Signed on the wick adjusting knob: The Belgian Lamp.

  • Smaller versions of the Belgian lamp can be seen in, Student Lamps of The Victorian Era by, Richard Miller. (pg.9)

  • Nice condition, with the exception of some minor age related stress cracks. (one has to look hard to find them) Also the center post has some indents from the many times that the set screws were tightened against it.

  • Other than the flame spreader, the lamp is complete with all other oil components in place and working freely. (has not been tested to hold oil) A nice feature is the independent shade adjustment, it slides up or down on the center post separately from the main lamp body, which adjusts at different levels as well.

  • Old 2-1/2" chimney is signed "Fire Test"

  • The authentic10" emerald green, straight ribbed shade, is cased over opal and is near perfect, excellent condition.

  • The lamp is electrified without harm with a small halogen bulb and has a Hi-Low dimmer switch for 50 or 100 watts of light.

  • The size and beauty of this lamp commands a certain dominance and is certain to draw attention.

  • This lamp is very collectable and has a great investment potential.
